Founded in 2002, the mission of R1 TV is to ensure the ability to exercise their First Amendment rights through the medium of internet television on an open, uncensored and equitable basis.
R1 TV does not administer any Public Access cable TV channels, reaching cable subscribers on the RCN, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS cable systems.
In 2011, R1 TV presented programming in more than 40 languages, casting occurs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
R1 TV offers free training and certification classes in video production, editing and broadcasting to residents. In the nine years, between 2002-2011, R1 TV trained and certified numerous people.
Studios, editing facilities and camera equipment are also available free of charge.
In providing services, we seek to involve Russians in diverse racial, ethnic and geographic communities in the electronic communication of their varied interests, needs, concerns and identities.
